How I Went from Employee to Millionaire Working Online
Surely a stroke of luck, you might be thinking. But no, luck has little or nothing to do with it.
I say this because I have replicated the results obtained with my web projects dozens of times, in addition to having seen it replicated by thousands of other entrepreneurs along the way; so I am convinced that it is simply a matter of giving yourself the opportunity to try several times (usually you will not create a golden minute on the first try), while others see it with eyes of “it is too good to be true” and complain about “the life they got”.

But then, you’re probably wondering: How the fuck do you make money with your websites? Did you have to make any investment to create your blog? Can I make money online without investing a fortune? And most importantly: how could I do the same?
That is exactly why, in addition to having received hundreds of queries from friends and family, who after seeing what I achieved, felt interested in the different ways that exist to earn money onlinewhich I created the free guide to making money as a professional blogger..

Although if you follow the steps I share with you at. the step by step to create a professional blogyour investment will be much less than mine; I share with you the cost of launching my first professional website (my travel blog) in 2016:

- $5 dollars for a logo that I had made at fiverr.comsomething I later understood, it is not completely necessary to start with (neither this website, nor any of my recent projects, has a logo).
- I really want to achieve my dreams.
This adds up to a grand total of $50!
Happily, I can confirm that after all this time, not one more dollar has come back out of my pocket.
To make each of my blogs or web pages grow, I simply reinvest a part of the profits they generate month after month. And the goal in each of my web projects has always been and continues to be to invest as little as possible to validate my entrepreneurial ideas.
How I Started Making Money Online – The First 12 Months
Although each path is different and will depend largely on you, your talent and the love and effort you put into your project; I share with you what I experienced month by month, during my first year as a digital entrepreneur.
The first weeks
Immediately after the launch of my travel blog, I started looking for ways to promote it without investing money.
I wanted to validate my business idea without risking my savings. That’s when I decided to start sharing my content in Facebook groups.
I have dedicated the promotion of absolutely all my web projects (today more than 5) to free digital marketing on social media platforms and I can tell you with absolute certainty, that it is possible to grow fast and validate your idea without spending a penny on advertising.

Usually, at the end of the first month, my new projects hover around 30,000 visits per month (with 100% free promotion) and start receiving about 100,000 visits per month, before the end of the first semester.
All, following the steps I have proven with dozens of my own projects, and the ventures of the thousands of bloggers and digital entrepreneurs who have been part of our free support community.
Within 2 months of creating my website
At this point I had achieved around 2,000 followers on social networks, something that was much more difficult for me to achieve than it is today, having no guidance from anyone (5 years ago there was very little information on online entrepreneurship applicable to Latin America).
It was the first time I gave myself the opportunity to work with brands through swaps and sponsorships. At first I thought it would be impossible, since I didn’t have a very big presence in social networks, but I got a big surprise.
These companies would give me their service or product, in exchange for me writing about my experience on the blog and sharing it with my social media followers.
I started to experience “My Dream Life.”
The more reach I achieved with my web project, the more collaborations I achieved; that’s how it all escalated, to the point where I was able to collaborate with dream brands.

It was a great way to see the first benefits for my work (some sponsored trips, clothing, restaurant meals, technology accessories, etc.).
Important: You can achieve sponsorships and collaborations with brands with a blog or content platform of almost any subject matter. Just as a maternity blog can get sponsorships from baby product brands; a travel blog does it with hotels, and a photography blog with camera brands. Another important point is to make sure you never promote a product or service that you personally wouldn’t use. Honesty when recommending something is key to maintaining the trust of your reader or follower.

The fourth month of my Travel Blog
At 4 months I decided to install advertising banners on my blog (as you can surely see throughout this site). I did it by registering my site for free at Google Adsense.
It was there that I saw my first dollars (finally, money!), since for every visitor that clicked on one of the banners on my web page; I earned a few cents (multiply cents by thousands of clicks, and you’ll see the potential).
Traffic to my blog and social media followers continued to increase, and I didn’t stop working on my website for a single day (even if I got home from the office very late).
Thanks to the tips and free content I shared on my website and social media, I had gained enough authority that my readers were willing to pay me for personalized travel advice.
After 8 months
By this time I already had approximately 80,000 monthly readers on the travel blog. A figure that today, thanks to practice, I see possible to achieve in the first month of my new releases.
At this point I was able to afford to start charging money for promoting hotels, transportation services, travel clothing, backpacks, etc. I went from sponsored trips, to having paid collaborations (in money).
The advertising banners I had installed on my website a couple of months ago, were giving good results (exceeding $1,000 dollars a month passively).
I decided to also try affiliate marketing, which is based on finding a product or service from a brand you personally admire, joining their affiliate program (they will give you a unique link with which you will promote the product or service), and promote it to your readers, receiving a commission for each sale.
Joining this type of program is completely free and the only thing you generally need to be accepted is to have a professional website with a theme that matches the brand, to share those affiliate links with your readers.
This business model started generating me good earnings from day 1 and skyrocketed my online income to the point where I started to seriously consider quitting my job.
10 months after creating my website
In the last 2 months I had managed to double the traffic of my website, reaching more than 200,000 visits per month.
It was at that moment that everything took off and I stopped knocking on doors with the brands I liked, to instead sit down and listen and analyze the offers that came to me.
My earnings had been practically doubling for 2 months in a row and I realized that it hadn’t just been a “run of good luck”.
I realized that as long as I kept building my brand and improving my content month by month; learning new things as the weeks went by and diversifying my income so I wasn’t relying on one source; making money online was completely sustainable.
By this time I had already managed to generate for 2 consecutive months, income that exceeded the salary of my corporate job.
12 months into my Online Business
At the end of 12 months and after many hours of work, my website had achieved more than 1 million accumulated visits in the first year, had users in 16 countries and created multiple sources of income; which allowed me to quit my traditional job, to dedicate myself to live the life of my dreams.
After the first year
Seeing myself with the necessary time to dedicate 100% to my ideas and digital ventures, I decided to launch carlicas.com (a project I had had in mind for several months, after seeing the interest in online entrepreneurship of many of my friends and family).
I also launched the Free Support Community for Digital Entrepreneurs and several other web pages; in which I deal with topics ranging from. self-improvement tips and online entrepreneurship, up to the investment and personal finance.
